Our active equity teams are small with a boutique,
entrepreneurial mentality. LGIM does not
impose a single investment style on its managers.
Instead, teams implement the approach most suitable
to their particular market. Corporate and
credit research lies at the heart of our approach to
investment management and teams are free to use
their own ideas and strategies. Many of our
equity funds are very focused with concentrated
portfolios and an emphasis on high conviction
stock-picking.
The size of LGIM's global index tracking business gives our active managers easy access to the senior management of the companies in which we invest. We manage almost 5% of the FTSE All Share Index and are invariably one of the largest investors in every company within the index. This gives our managers a real advantage when conducting proprietary research, as we can often speak directly to company senior management.
