The LGIM events team delivers a wide range of events across our institutional and defined contribution channels. These events are held for our clients and consultants.

Our events run throughout the year and cover a selection of topics ranging from introductory investment education sessions to more in-depth events that focus on a specific asset class or investment solution. They are held at our London headquarters and also regionally across the UK.  A list of some of the events that are available to our clients can be found below:

Trustee Knowledge series

LGIM runs regular seminars as part of its Trustee Knowledge Series for DB and DC pension scheme trustees. The series employs the knowledge and skills of LGIM’s investment professionals to help trustees to gain the required knowledge and understanding of the principles relating to pension scheme investment. The following CPD-accredited seminars are on offer:

  • A Refresher on DB and DC Pension Investments - a half-day seminar focusing on the core asset classes and how they can be used to meet DB and DC schemes' objectives
  • Managing the Investment Challenge - a full-day seminar focusing on managing growth, making payments and understanding the risks within a DB scheme
  • LDI Breakfast Training - a two hour small group session, aiming to provide an introduction to the options available to UK pensions schemes in the area of liability driven investment

There will be seminars held in London, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Manchester throughout the year.

Breakfast Briefings for Consultants

In 2018 LGIM will be running four CPD-accredited Breakfast Briefings designed specifically for consultants. These will be taking place in London, Leeds, Manchester and Edinburgh. These events focus on a variety of investment topics for consultants and this year our speakers will be presenting on Cashflow Aware Solutions.

L&G Roadshows

LGIM has teamed up with Legal & General Retirement (LGR) to run a series of L&G UK Roadshows for both Employee Benefit Consultants and Trustees. These roadshows will be taking place in May and June in four locations – Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Manchester. The focus will be on how L&G’s investments in each of these locations has benefitted the local communities and importance of long term thinking for generating sustainable investment returns.

Industry Events 

In addition to our range of proprietary events, the team also manages LGIM’s participation at a variety of industry exhibitions, conferences, awards and roadshows throughout the year. These include the PLSA Conferences, ACT Annual Conference and Exhibition and Local Government Chronicle events amongst others. As part of this activity they support speaker opportunities for LGIM’s investment professionals, portfolio managers and product specialists.
