David joined Legal & General Investment Management as Head of Asia Pacific ex Japan in June 2018. Legal & General Investment Management is the asset management arm of Legal & General plc which was established in 1836 in London, UK.
Prior to joining Legal & General Investment Management, David was Head of Asia ex Japan for Standard Life Investments for over seven years. David was with BlackRock (and its predecessor Merrill Lynch Investment Managers and Mercury Asset Management) for 15 years and has been instrumental in building their Taiwan and China businesses. At BlackRock, he held a number of senior management positions including Managing Director and Chief Representative for China; Deputy CEO, Head of Sales and Marketing of BlackRock’s joint venture in China with the Bank of China. He built Merrill Lynch Investment Managers’ China institutional business as well as Mercury Asset Management’s Taiwan strategy and business.
Prior to joining Mercury Asset Management, David was Associate Director of China Business with Aetna Investment Management, the investment arm of Aetna Life & Casualty’s. He was instrumental in establishing a joint venture private equity fund management company between Aetna and Bank of China. David worked in the high tech industries in Beijing and Taipei.
Janice has overall responsibility for LGIM's sales and marketing strategy in the Asia Pacific region. With over 20 years’ industry experience, Janice joined LGIM in July 2013 from State Street Global Advisors where she was the Managing Director of SSgA Singapore and Head of Relationship Management in Asia ex Japan.
With a focus on institutional clients including central banks, sovereign wealth funds and public pensions, she was responsible for managing all client activities in the region. Janice was also in charge of the Singapore office with an investment team managing over US$5 billion of assets. She joined SSgA Hong Kong in 2006 as Vice President of Business Development focusing on north Asia.
Prior to joining SSgA, Janice was Director of Business Development for BNP Paribas Investment Partners (then BNP Paribas Asset Management) Hong Kong where she covered institutional clients in Hong Kong and Macao. Janice graduated with a BSc in accounting from Golden Gate University, San Francisco.
Paul is Head of Index Funds, Asia Pacific, and is responsible for LGIM’s index fund management capability in the Asia Pacific region. Paul joined LGIM in May 2014 from Enhanced Investment Products Limited (EIP) where he held the title of Head of Beta Products. He was responsible for the management of the suite of index-related investment strategies and notably for the launch of the XIE Shares ETF platform in 2012. Prior to joining EIP, Paul was Head of Portfolio Management for Asia ex Japan at BlackRock, which was previously known as Barclays Global Investors (BGI), based in Hong Kong and managed more than US$6.8 billion in Asian exchange-traded funds. Prior to his move to Hong Kong in late 2007 he was responsible for transition management and equity index products at BGI in Canada. Paul also spent three years at Mercer Investment Consulting based in Toronto.
Paul holds a joint MBA degree from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School and York University’s Schulich Graduate School, and a Bachelor of Commerce with honours in actuarial science, economics and finance from the University of Toronto. Paul is also a certified chartered financial analyst (CFA). Paul holds Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission licence on following regulated activities: Dealing in Securities (type 1) and Asset Management (type 9).
Danny is responsible for LGIM’s equity trading in the Asia-Pacific region. Danny joined LGIM in June 2017 following a career spanning 12 years trading cash equities and equity derivatives across developed and emerging markets in Asia. Prior to joining LGIM, Danny gained substantial knowledge working on both sides of the market for HSBC Global Asset Management, Macquarie Group, and AMP Capital. Danny graduated from Macquarie University and holds a Bachelor of Applied Finance and Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting.
