Bill joined Legal & General in 2007 and is responsible for transforming its UK property fund management business into a global-reaching real assets platform. Operating in both the direct investment and lending markets, today it actively invests and manages over £35bn AUM providing capabilities in real estate, infrastructure and corporate debt. Bill previously held positions at RREEF (the Real Estate Fund Management business of Deutsche Bank) and Schroder Property Investment Management.
Bill continues to play an active role in several influential government and industry committees around ESG, infrastructure, regeneration and housing. He was appointed a UK Built Environment Climate Ambassador by the UK Green Building Council to mobilise the real estate industry at COP26 and champion the development of the Net Zero Whole Life Carbon Roadmap for the UK Built Environment.
He is Chair of the Property Industry Alliance (PIA) which brings together the UK’s leading property bodies to give them a stronger collective voice on issues such as policy, research and best practice. Bill is a current Trustee of the UK Green Building Council and an Honorary Fellow of the College of Estate Management. He is a past Chair of the Green Property Alliance, a past President of the British Property Federation (BPF), past Chairman of the Association of Real Estate Funds (AREF) and was a Commissioner for the Lyons Housing Review.

Michael is a Board Director for LGIM Real Assets and Head of Fund Management. He is responsible for delivering consistently robust investment performance across the full range of LGIMRA client funds and mandates. Michael is also central to the provision of innovative client solutions, new real estate investment vehicles and market leading property strategies.
Michael joined the business in 2005 having previously been a Director at F&C Investment Management. In 2006 he established the highly successful £2.9m authorised Legal & General UK Property Fund and remains the Joint Fund Manager.
The most recent strategic move has been to lead LGIM Real Assets’ £1.8bn investment into institutional Build-to-Rent residential where both a development partnership and a long term holding structure have been created alongside a market leading team of specialists. This remains a significant growth area for the LGIMRA business.
Gordon Aitchison
Gordon Aitchison
Gordon is Director of Investment and Development at LGIM Real Assets and also sits on the Property Investment Committee. Gordon leads all fund investment activities both on and off market and advises on large investment acquisition and regeneration projects. He has been responsible for over £5.6bn of direct property acquisitions and fundings over the last two years.
Gordon also heads the Real Estate Development team which manages all direct developments, funding and major refurbishment projects across the platform.
Gordon joined the business in July 2009 having previously held the position of Chief Executive at Citygrove. Prior to this, Gordon was Head of Property Transactions at Deutsche Bank’s UK Property Fund Management Division.
Nicholas Bamber

Nicholas is Director of Private Credit with responsibility for LGIM’s private credit business comprising lending to corporates, infrastructure, alternative debt and real estate. The business is based in London, Chicago and Denver and lends across multiple jurisdictions. Since Nicholas arrived the business has enabled both internal and external clients to build and safely manage secure income producing portfolios. AUM has grown from £2.5bn AUM to £15bn over 5 years. The 25 person team he has built now comprises market leading investment professionals in all of the segments.
Nicholas joined LGIM in January 2016 from RBS where he held a range of senior roles serving the financing needs of borrowers in Europe. Most recently he was Head of UK Corporate Coverage, and previously led the Corporate Debt Capital Markets businesses across both Investment Grade and Non-Investment Grade and Western Europe and CEEMEA regions.
Nicholas’ early career was focused on the private placement market working in both New York and London. He advised on a number of the ground breaking transactions for this market extending the size, maturity, sector and currency limitations that had constrained it. Nicholas graduated from Durham University (BA) and London Business School (MBA).
Rob Martin

Rob Martin is Global Head of Investment Strategy & Research. He leads the Research & ESG teams and our approach to strategy as it relates to both real estate and private credit, with 23 years experience. He ensures that market intelligence, ESG and long-term trends are fully integrated into fund strategy and individual investment decisions. Rob is a Director of the Real Assets business and sits on the Property and Private Credit investment committees.
Rob joined LGIM in October 2006 from Hammerson plc, where he held the role of Head of Research. Prior to that he was an economist with the CBI, and previously spent 3 years in a consultancy role in the oil & gas industry.
Rob was the Chair of the Investment Property Forum (IPF) Research Steering Group from 2015-18.
Rob graduated from the University of Warwick with a degree in Economics & Economic History and is a CFA charterholder.
Rosie Sears

As a General Counsel at LGIM Real Assets, Rosie is responsible for providing legal advice to the platform’s directors, fund managers and asset managers. Rosie covers a wide range of legal services for property, private credit, fund, governance and financing related matters. Rosie joined the business in October 2021. Prior to her current role, Rosie held a number of high profile legal positions across the Legal & General Group, most recently, as Chief Corporate Counsel and Company Secretary for LGIM.
Rosie joined LGIM from the international law firm Clifford Chance LLP, where she worked as an Associate. Rosie is a solicitor qualified in England and Wales. Rosie holds a Bachelors Degree from Oxford University.
Jas Chahal
Jas Chahal
Jas has more than 25 years investment management experience, joining LGIM in 2018 as a subject matter expert in the Real Assets Solutions team to find suitable investment solutions for clients across infrastructure, private credit and property. She has since been promoted to Head of Strategic Change in Real Assets and sits on the Real Assets Management Committee responsible for driving business strategy as the platform looks to modernise, diversity and internationalise. She is also the Chair of the Real Assets Diversity & Inclusion Committee.
Prior to joining LGIM, Jas was an Alternatives Portfolio Manager at the Tesco Pension Fund investing across infrastructure, private equity, secondaries and other esoteric strategies such as aircraft leasing and shipping. Before that, she spent 11 years at Schroder Investment Management where she held various positions most notably as a Portfolio Manager responsible for investment and portfolio management in the global property multi-manager team. Jas started her career in Singapore at Colliers Jardine and then in London at Lasalle Investment Management as a Senior Strategy Analyst. Jas holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Estate Management from the National University of Singapore.
